Not all students are alike.

Not all students are alike. Based on this knowledge, differentiated instruction applies an approach to teaching and learning so that students have multiple options for taking in information and making sense of ideas. The model of differentiated instruction requires teachers to be flexible in their approach to teaching and adjusting the curriculum and presentation of information to learners rather than expecting students to modify themselves for the curriculum. Classroom teaching is a blend of whole-class, group and individual instruction. Differentiated Instruction is a teaching theory based on the premise that instructional approaches should vary and be adapted in relation to individual and diverse students in classrooms.

Paying Attention

Are you paying attention to how your students are learning?

Since most of today's students can appropriately be labeled as "Digital Learners", why do so many teachers refuse to enter the digital age with their teaching practices?

This presentation was created in an effort to motivate teachers to more effectively use technology in their teaching.

Please see http://t4.jordandistrict.org/payattention to learn how you can become a better teacher.

Best Practices using Technology to Support Differentiated Instruction

The purpose of this blog is to collect a series of best practices by teachers at Nashoba Regional High School as part of a professional develop showcase that will take place during the month of May. This blog will allow for the continuation of discussions and sharing for best practices.

Teachers at Nashoba have recently implemented several new technologies that connect their classrooms and support differentiated instruction. As part of an Intel grant teachers are using Tablet/PC's with wireless projectors in the classroom.

Nashoba was recognized by Microsoft as the April 2006 Showcase School of the month for our SharePoint implementation and as an Innovative Teacher Team last fall.

We hope by video taping and showcasing our classrooms we share our best practices focusing on technology integration.
